Expressing Selling Price as a percentage of List Price

I am a newbe at using formulas. I am sure what I want to do is a very simple thing, but I need help.

I have a spreadsheet with columns for "Part Number", "List Price" and "Selling Price" The last 2 columns are formatted for currency. I need a formula in the "Selling Price" column that automatically enters a price that is 50% of the "List Price". I need this formula to always use the value of "List Price " in the same row immediately to the left in each row as I add new "Part Number" and "List Price" information to the end of each column.

I hope it is clear what I want to do. Any help would be appreciated.

You want to sell it for half the List Price...?

Assuming you are working on Capitalist, not Socialist, principals I'd guess the Selling Price should be the List price plus 50%.

Assuming the List Price in Cell B2:
    =B2 + (B2 * 0.5)

Will give you a selling price that is 50% higher than the list price.

That's not socialism... it could be a loss leader.... or simply philanthropy gone mad...

Re: Expressing Selling Price as a percentage of List Price

Well, I guess I was not very clear in the description of my problem. I tried to generalize it too much. Specifically, here is what I have. I am a stamp collector and I am working with a dealer that sends me stamps from a country on stamp album pages. The standard value guide for stamps is Scott's Stamp Catalog. As I remove stamps from these pages for my collection, I list the Scott Catalog number for that stamp in the "Part Number" column. and the value from the Scott Catalog in the "List Price" column. This dealer sells all his stamps for 50% of the Scott Catalog value, which is a fairly common practice. No dealer sells at the full Scott Catalog value. Some charge 60%, others 75%, but seldom 100% unless the stamp is in a remarkable condition and rarity. I don't want to have to manually compute the 50% price for each stamp I keep as it can be 100's of stamps. I want the 50% of the Scott Catalog value to automatically appear in column "C".

I tried to modify the formula you gave me by changing the column references and the "+" to a "-" but I must not be adding the formula to the cells properly as it just puts the text of the formula in the cell and not the formula. Like I said, I am a complete newbe to using formulas so I need step-by-step instructions.

Or, if the percentage may vary have a look at the attached.
