Please could you explain in words in your next post the logic behind your calculations and the significance of the cells highlighted in yellow? I am afraid it is still far from clear, to me, at least.
Dear AliGW
In yellow colour, Equipment stopped on 03/06/2016 at 13:30 hours and started next day 04/06/2016 at 13:20 (cell no. B6 and B7).
on 03/06/2016 stopped for 10.50 hours
on 04/06/2016 stopped for 13:20 hours
this will count 1 stoppage because it was stopped continously 2 days (03/06/2016 to 04/06/2016).
if it break the date or time, it will count 2 stoppages as shown in "Cell no. B4 and B5.
Thanks
Hi,
You appear to be counting C13:D15 as one stoppage, however there is a gap between D14 & C15 so surely there are two stoppages and in total 9 rather than 8.
Please clarify.
Yes, Richard you are right, total 9 stoppages, not 8.
regards,
May be this ?
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B$4:B$15<>C$3:C$14))
Dear Soledad / Experts
Kindly apply this formula in the latest attached file.
regards,
This in E4 copied down (you will need to un-merge those cells first, though):
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B$4:B4<>C$3:C3))
Or this
=IF(B4<>C3,SUMPRODUCT(--(B$4:B4<>C$3:C3)),"")
Solved the problem.
Thank you very much, all expert specially AliGW and Soledad.
regards.
You're welcome, but it was Soledad's solution: all I did was tweak it to make it incremental.
Thanks to all friends.
