    A Challenging One

    Hi all,

I am trying to automate a look up between a spreadsheets with two tabs ("Print" and "match").

I need a formula in column B of the "Print" tab that will look at column A of the "print" tab and compare it to column A in the "match" tab. For example, In cell A2 of the "print" tab, it says 'Lilac verbana rock the dock'. If you scan column A of the 'Match' tab, you will see that there is a 'rock the dock' listing - therefore we want to insert the word PRINT into the cell.

One of the issues is that the cell contents are not exactly right, but rock the dock was a part of the name.

    Can anyone help me?

    Hey Casey,

If the data doesn't match EXACTLY then you are looking at something called "Fuzzy Logic". See if this add-in is what you need.

Although you might need a newer version of Excel to try it.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.

Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change a Title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
