Trying to remove conditional formatting on blank columns...

Ok, so I'm a bit of a newbie so please don't rip into me to much! lol

I've created a spreadsheet tracking sales metrics and have inserted conditional formatting so that if it's above so and so % it marks green, and below that percentage it marks green.

It's a week by week basis that we fill in the stats, but the columns that I haven't even filled in are green, when I want them to be blank.

I've attached a picture, if I'm not making much sense...

    Welcome to Excel Forum.
One of the advantages to asking a question here is the ability to upload a sample spreadsheet as opposed to just a picture. To attach a sample workbook to a post click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
That said a generic solution might be to write conditional formatting rules that have multiple arguments such as =AND(A3<>"",A3> so and so %)
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.

    Welcome to the forum.
As JeteMc says, attaching a sample file will help us help you. If you're unable to do so for some reason, then at least let us know what formulae you're using in Conditional Formatting, and the range(s) they apply to. The solution is probably something like JeteMc says (a multiple-argument formula), though it might be that your formulae have been affected by a small bug in Excel which sometimes changes the references in CF formulae to something weird.

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.

    That's kind of confusing!

    Sounds contradictory.

    Dear caitlinstardust,
Your first point : if it's above so and so % it marks green > plz confirm how many marks
Your second point : below that percentage it marks green > confirm range less than & grather than.

You are mentioning both point above & below percentage shows as green? I think above marks green & below marks is other color which you wants.
Also your subject & requirement is different.

For better result post your one sample file with actual required result.
