Can you do 5 star ratings in excel

Hello everyone. I was just creating a list of movies I've seen and decided it would be helpful to add a 5 star rating system. When I tried doing that using conditional formatting I found I couldn't. CF only offered 3 star and only with the (>=)choice. Is there another way to created the rating system. I just want to rate the movies 1-5 stars. I tried looking up the answer on the internet and at this site also but can't find an answer. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Sandy, That's the page I looked at but I don't think that's will work for my needs. I believe in that example your required to use a different cell for each possible star rating and I'd like to have what ever the rating to be in just one cell. But thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

Possibly set # of stars to a cell, then enter the desired number of stars. You could also create a drop down list.

Thanks, I think this might work for me. I'd like to use the wingding U which is a diamond. How do I get that wingding into the formula?

Ok, if you want in one cell the way of AlKey is best. You can use also something like this
    Formula: copy to clipboard

in A1 (font of your text in cell: Windings). I used here this symbol. You can change it to any other. If value in B1 exceed 5 (...6, 7, etc.) you get 5 smiles in A1 always.

Thanks Alkey, I'm not all that good at excel. I don't understand how to insert the wingding into the formula like your example above. Could you explain a bit more how to get that symbol into a formula. Remember I'm just a notch above a novice. Thanks
