    Talking Needing help with my personal finance spreadsheet

    Hey guys, I am fairly new with learning formulas and how to use them so I am hoping someone can help me figure this out.

    I basically want something to help me with knowing what bills have been paid/not paid.

    This is how I have set up my finances:
    14th Car Insurance $135.00
    2nd Phone $67.00
    - Medical Bills 1000
    - School Tuition 2000
    4th Credit Card 50
    14th Duke $50.00
    1st Rent $388.00

    I want on the side of it to say paid after the date on the side is up. I'm just playing around at this point trying to learn so if anyone had a better idea or knows how to do this, I'd appreciate your help!

    hi Charlotte
    is this something like what you want? It uses conditional formatting t show if a bill of paid, overdue, due soon, or not due soon.

    you will have to manually enter the y/n, but the colours will change automatically because I used conditional formatting.
    the rules are set up:
    • colour the row green if the bill has been paid;
    • red if it was due on a date earlier than today;
    • orange if it is due in the next week;
    • or blue if it is due more than 7 days from today.

    If you select a cell and look in conditional formatting you will see the rules it applies, and can adjust them as you like
