Question Formula to sum opportunity amount for multiple Campaign rows

    Hi

I have a huge spreadsheet of SFDC Opportunity Amounts, linked to Primary Marketing Campaigns. It will take me forever to try and sum the Opportunity value (Col B) for each Campaign Name (Col A), as there are multiple rows for each Campaign. Is there a formula which will recognise a unique Campaign Name and return the sum of the associated Opportunity Amounts? If I look manually, I can see that the total against the first Campaign totals 4,119,027.13, but how I can I just drag a formula down the spreadsheet and return that value automatically? I can't seem to attach a spreadsheet, so there are two columns....Primary Campaign Source (Col A) and Amount (converted) (Col B). Hope this is enough!

    Primary Campaign Source Amount (converted)

    Please help!

Select your table and choose Insert Pivot Table. Then drag the header from the first column to the row area, the header from the amount column to the data area, and set the data area function to sum - and you're done.

Thank you Bernie. I know how to produce a pivot table, but I need to actually return a piece of data, to append to another report. That's the part I'm struggling with.

Where you want the data in the other report, type an = sign, then navigate to the pivot table and click the cell that you want. You will get a function GETPIVOTDATA with the parameters that will return that same value no matter how the pivot table is changed when the data updates.
