Date vlookup is returning the incorrect date

    Hi all,

Google has not helped me this time, so am looking for some help.

Basically I have a bunch of unique emails and each of them have an associated last login date which looks like this 02/04/2013 07:36:36 (column B). I have then created a new column called login date (column C) and used the formula =Date(Year(),Month(),Day()) which then returned the correct date and removed the time stamp. I have then copied and pasted this column as values (side note I have tried looking up with various formats e.g. date/text/number).

So here's my issue, I am trying to lookup the related email and find the last login date. When I use the vlookup function, it displays a date but it's incorrect. I would say I'm proficient in excel and just can't seem to get my head around this issue, I have tried looking up both column B and column C in various formats (also tried various lookups with date lookup etc). Any help would be appreciated!

Side note - I'm using Microsoft for Mac (not sure if that is relevant, just thought it might be worth pointing out).

    Thanks in advance!!

Re: Date vlookup is returning the incorrect date

If there are multiple dates for an e-mail VLOOKUP OR MATCH will only find the first.

Attach a sample workbook (not image).

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate.

Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Thumbs up Re: Date vlookup is returning the incorrect date

Thanks for your reply! I've actually just found the resolution, basically one excel file was in the 1900 date system and the other was in the 1904 system. Just needed to select the 1904 date system and it fixed the issue.

    Thanks so much!
