Unhappy Function to get data from certain dates.

Quick explanation of my sheet to explain the problem:
1st column is full of names, then i have columns titled like Jan-10, feb-10,..., up to Jun-17 etc, and then columns after that are statistics that make calculations based on the last 1, 3,5 and 12 most recent months. So far for me this is an exercise of clicking the function and shifting which cells it computes on, as every month i have to insert a new month column. This data is also in a table such that apr-17, may-17 etc are column headers. i am looking for a formula which will automatically shift my function across, possibly because they look for data in the corresponding row that is in the column that represents the most recent (most recent but 1, most recent but 2 etc...) month.

Alternatively a solution could be if i could re-write the functions so that instead of targeting certain cells it targets the cell exactly a certain number of cells to the left, as every time i insert a month it becomes the one directly to the left of the first statistic and the rest are shifted along.

Does anybody udnerstand this problem that could help? sorry for bad description.

Attach a sample workbook (not image).

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate.

Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Welcome to the forum!

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

Just looking at your workbook, and I'm not quite sure what the issue is. Can you explain this in more detail:

... as every time i insert a month it becomes the one directly to the left of the first statistic and the rest are shifted along.
