    Re: Sequnece formula Support

The file you attached has no values in Sheet1 column C. It just has #NAME errors,, becasue we cannot accessthe external data. Please amend and re-post!!!

Sorry but what is the basis of what you are trying to do? Explain in words and walk me through it, please?

for instance, what does Sheet1 /A6/C6 mean?

    Re: Sequnece formula Support

Actually, in the PV Cell the value comes from the C6 of Sheet1.
Purpose of mentioned this whole path is to explain someone who I have to matched the data for this cell.
I hope this explanation will help you.

    Thanks for your support

Sorry, Waqari - it makes no sense to me, either. As Ford has said, you need to talk us through what you are trying to do. Please copy and paste as values the results of the formulae on the other sheet so that we can see what sheet 1 is referring to.

Based on what? What are the rules/logic that says C6 goes in there and not C20 for instance? Or do you just want the contents of sheet1 repeated, row-for-row , onto Report sheet?

Remember, you know exactly what you are working with, what you want and why, but we have no clue what you are doing, you need to explain clearly to us to help us understand

    Re: Sequnece formula Support

All the data will come from sheet 1.

Data will search on the base of "Tag Name" information.
I will explain here with the example.
    Tag Name(A7) AIC-1001.
We need to fill all the information of this A7 row(AIC-1001).
C7 of report sheet (column Name = PV) will come from the sheet 1.
YOu will go to the sheet 1 and you will find the AIC-1001 in the location "A2 to A8".
From there you can see the PV/SIG ROw which is A6 of the sheet 1. Then you can copy the value of this row which is located at C6 to the report sheet at column C6 of PV.

    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:AUTO 25/07/2017 FALSE
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:CO/SIG 25/07/2017 23
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:HIGHLIM 25/07/2017 34
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:LOWLIM 25/07/2017 0.99
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:PV/SIG 25/07/2017 12
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:SP/SIG 25/07/2017 87
    [Functional Structure]AUP Larkana Alarms/NH3 Panel/AIC-1001:STNMODE 25/07/2017 TRUE

I hope this will help you.

    Thanks

Based on the On sheet report Column A "Tag Name"

    Re: Sequnece formula Support

As I asked before, walk us through what you are doing. What are you looking for, where does it go, why is that selected, stuff like that. We all obviously do not understand what you want here. We are not trying to be difficult, but we cant help if we dont know what you are doing.

If you did this manually, what would you do?
step 1, you look for ..................?
step 2, once you find it, what do you do?
step 3, where does it go, and why does it go there?

That is the kind of detail we need please, otherwise help might be a long time coming

    Re: Sequnece formula Support

Variants of this formula will, I think, do what you want:

Adjust cell reference to starting cell & copy down.

    =OFFSET(Sheet1!$C$6,8*(ROWS($1:1)-1),,,)

    Re: Sequnece formula Support

    I just noticed columns G

    =IF(OFFSET(Sheet1!$C$2,8*(ROWS($1:1)-1),,,)=TRUE,"Auto","Manual")

    and H:

    =IF(OFFSET(Sheet1!$C$8,8*(ROWS($1:1)-1),,,)=TRUE,"Cascade","Not Cascade")
