Conditional Formatting to visually see past due dates

I'm trying to format cells within a pivot table to visually see what dates are greater than 17 days past. I created a mock table below to imitate what my excel file looks like which I've attached. Some cells will have dates, and some won't. I need to create a conditional formatting rule that will highlight the dates that are over 17 days past.Capture.PNG

    select B2:B9 for formatting and...

    formula is
    =B2-$A2>17

Re: Conditional Formatting to visually see past due dates

I'm sorry. After looking at it further, I need the conditional formatting formula to look and see if there is a date in the column to the right. If there is then I want it to do nothing. If there isn't, I need it to then determine if the date is 17 days or greater from today and highlight it. Does this make sense?

to avoid confusion for both of us
    - please attach a workbook containing relevant columns and data with cells manually filled with colours as mock-up

    Try this method
    Same formula as before,
    - with added condition that the value in column D must exceed 0
(works because all dates are positive numbers and therefore > 0)

    =AND(B2-$A2>17,D2>0)

Adapt it to suit your worksheet columns

(Hope that solves your problem - I am now away from my PC for next 5 days )
