Calculate a field value based on the color of another.

Hi All,

I was wondering if there is a way to calculate a field value based on the color of another field. In other words suppose a field in column A was red and the next field down was green. Is there a formula or calculation that another field could have in column B that would display the value 1 or 2 based on the color of the fields in column A?

That depends on whether the two cells are coloured manually or whether they are subject to a conditional format. If the latter then use whatever rules are used by those two cells in column B.

Thank you for your reply. The user would simply change the color manually and then the other cell would change value based on what color the first cell was. Thanks
