Counting = signs in a worksheet

Hi there. Does anyone know how I can count the number of equals signs that appear in a workbook using countif? I've tried using the tidle sign but it doesnt work like it did for the ~* sign. Could someone save me hours of work?? I'd be hugely appreciative. All cells in my sheet either contain *, -, = or +. Chris

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Also clarify if it is the number of equals signs, or the number of cells containing an equals sign
