Help needed with IF formulas please

Hi,

I am looking for an IF formula which would allow to automatically allocate a commission depending the grand total of the quote. depending on how big the quote is, the commission increase according to a table. and we currently have to input by hand. I am pretty someone very smart in here will find us a way to do this automatically.

if the quote value is between £0 and £150 then no commission
between £151 and £500 then £15
between £501 and £1000 then £30

any ideas on how to do this?

I only put three lines of our table but it carries on for another 3 or 4 other larger commission. am I ok to just carry on the sequence with the comma and brackets? can you just let me what the speech marks are for, why two? is it related to the two sub formulas by any chance?

hi cbatrody again, I set up the formula you gave me yesterday and it worked a treat within our excel quote sheet. This cell is also part of SUM formula for the total and it works fine. Now I tried to set up a simple formula to the cell next to it

=A2*1.2

to add 20% to the commissions which will be the amount sold to the client. And this cell is also part of a SUM formula but this time excel flag it up as a circular reference, I don't understand. I checked on google and I understand that a formula cannot include its own cell but it is not the case...is there anyway around that?
