Need to fix formula so running total in HR Remaining column is not a negative number

So I have what I feel to be a medium level of experience working with excel. I am familiar and comfortable working with basic formulas. I am attempting to use the attached test form to keep track of hours at work. I have to record my time, and keep track of a running log of my hours for the entire year. However, once I claim my time it shows a negative number. This makes the row under it wonky. It does work itself out in the end, but I would like it to flow smoothly. I have been trying to adjust this for days and thought I would get some advice from some fellow users who can probably see my error easily and help me correct it...suggestions?

Re: Where is my formula wrong

So what is it exactly in the test file that you want to change? I cannot see the problem. Your formula is not 'wrong'.

Re: Where is my formula wrong

Thank you AliGW for your advice. In the end I was able to reformulate it and I got the document to work the way I wanted. Sorry about the Title error, I did change it and I hope that it does meet the criteria of the forum.

Thank you for changing the title, but you have marked the thread as solved - is it?

Yes I did solve the problem that I had. I kept having a negative number and I rearranged the order of the formula and it works now. I think I was using one of the wrong columns. So now when I use it in the actual document, not the test one all the numbers line up and flow smoothly, and makes mathematical sense now. Thanks for clarifying.

If I understand your log correctly, the formula in E11 should be =D11+G10, and the formula in G11 should be =E11-F11.

Copy E11 down the column, and copy G11 down the column.
