    Formatting Fractions

Hi, Is there any way to get excel to round fractions to the nearest "1/x" value? I currently have a fraction shown as 4/953 and want this shown as a "1/x" value instead e.g. the denominator can be any value but I want the numerator to be 1. I realise that this will mean loosing accuracy in the value.

I need an excel formula that will work for any fraction.

    Thanks

Assuming you have the numbers that feed into the fraction:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Where your fraction is A1 divided by A2.

This displays the number 4/953 as the text "1/238".
Design everything to be as simple as possible, but no simpler.

    Try:
    =1/INT(A2/A1)
Format / Fraction / Up to three digits
