    Formatting a date column

I am importing data from an outside source. The data column has the format of "12/29/2017 5:00:00 AM". I would like to remove the hh/mm/ss/am from the field. I tried using the format function, but the time is still there. How can I remove the time?

    Re: Formatting a date column

It can depend on exactly how the information is being stored....

    As a first attempt:

    =INT(A1) and format as date

    Text to Columns
    Delimiter - space
    1st column set MDY
    2nd - don't import (skip)
    3rd - don't import (skip)

    Re: Formatting a date column

    Hi Glenn,
I thinkthe time stamp is put there when the customers create the transaction/record. Do I put that formula in a separate column to convert it?

Yep. If no good, Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)?

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
