    Question Adding Sum Totals by Month for the Year

    Hello. I'm trying to find a formula that will add the number of overtime hours worked each month and then total them by year as each month goes by. For example, some of our guys are working overtime in March and I'm scheduling hours for that month even though we're still in January. They are currently working OT so is there any way I can see the sum of hours worked as we go through the year? For example, if I want to look at June, I'd like to see the total sum of hours from Jan-June. Can someone help provide a formula to do that? Thanks in advance.

    You'll need to provide more info, ideally can you upload a sample worksheet?

    Sample_OT.xlsx

    So, I think there's a way to create another spreadsheet that totals the year you can connect to the first spreadsheet but I can't seem to remember how to do that. Does this spreadsheet sample help?

    Re: Adding Sum Totals by Month for the Year

    Given your sample

    try

    =SUMPRODUCT(($B$2:$F$2>=sDate)*($B$2:$F$2<=fDate)*($A$4:$A$5=$A3)*($B$4:$F$5))

    sDate=Start date of period of interest 01/01/2018

    fDate=End date of period of interest 30/06/2018

    Put the dates in cells e.g X1, X2

    For the year just choose dates of 01/1/2018 and 31/12/2018
