Retrieving data - MATCH INDEX or multiple IF statements?

    Hi,

I have a data set of measurements over a number of years which has some gaps. In order to analyse the data set appropriately I want to be able to exclude data (on a quarterly basis where the total amount of data available is <75%, thereby excluding quarters where too much data is missing.

I've completed what I thought would be the first step and calculated the data completeness on a quarterly basis for the data set (processing sheet - see attached).

However I've come at a crossroads and just can't figure out how to proceed.

I thought I would be able to retrieve data per [date time hour] for relevant quarters where the data completeness is >75% but failed miserably.

I would appreciate any tips or ideas.

    Cheers

Would this help? Use 3 helper columns (I put them in columns E:G on the Data sheet) to mirror qualified data and return "" for un-qualified quarters.
Paste this in E3, copied across and down:

Then you could use SUMIFS, etc. for whatever analysis you had in mind.

Thanks very much leelnich, I really appreciate it.

That formula does exactly what I was trying to do. It's much simpler than the one I was trying to construct.
