linking data to another table based on the result of a specific cell

    Hi all,

I am trying to simplify the way i process enquiries and sales to my business. I currently have a spreadsheet designed to track all enquiries but I have a secondary spreadsheet to capture sales. at first I linked the data from one sheet to another but I only need to track enquiries that have converted to sales and not everything that comes through the system.

Is there a way of my sales form recognising the data from the enquiry form based on the acceptance of a quote i.e a tick in a box perhaps? so it only registers the details of that particular row based on a cell that is selected or not selected?

I'm guessing there must be a way of achieving this?

    Any ideas?

Sure, but there are many approaches to this and how it should be accomplished will depend on how you use the data and how your workbook is set up etc.

Without sample workbook and manually created desired output, hard to give you right fit solution.

It'd be easiest to just add a column to your first table with all enquiries and put "Yes" or "No" if the quote was accepted. Then you could just filter on "Yes" to see total sales. If you want a separate table elsewhere in the file, you could create a pivot table and filter on "Yes", and just refresh the data when you want to see updated numbers.
