Need help with sumif before Today's date?

Hi guys, you all were extremely helpful and absolutely spectacular to work with earlier this week, but I'm back again, I'm slowly learning piecemeal about formulas and giving it a shot. I know I'm not quite there, and need a little nudge to get some of my stuff working, but it helps me immensely!

I am currently needing to (while looking at dataset sheet Row 2) SumIf objects from Reports!K:K (with Criteria) - if they are older than todays date, and if Reports!A:A = Cell Value in Dataset!A2

The current formula is =SUMIF(Reports!K:K, < TODAY & (Reports!$A:$A='Dataset'!A2))

I am going to attach the example worksheet.

The Sum I am looking to see in Dataset!F2 should be 5.

Sorry, it looks like the firewall blocked my last statement,
I appreciate you helping me look into this, you made me realize I need to actually add another part in here too.

Now, I realize that during my sumif for - I need to first criteria- select only Rows in A:A with value ameritrade, second criteria - only add rows in K:K if the row has a date earlier than today.

in example, if it is in sql, it would be something like ( not right in SQL either, just trying to make things simple as possible)

Nope, still doesn't work for me. Says there is a problem with some content then tries to repair it (badly!)

Ahhh I think I misread my numbers on my end actually. Let me run through them again ahah.. I feel a bit embarrassed here

Yup, I was doing Countif's reading the dates in my head to get how many entries were there for Ameritrade, not the actual Sum in C:C lol. You totally got it.
