    Question MultiCriteria Indexing WITH Duplicates...HELP!

    Hello everyone,
Thanks for your help in advance (this is my first post).

I am needing help taking information from one table and putting it in another table. Below is a simple example of what I need.

    Screen Shot 2018-08-29 at 3.52.41 PM.png

FIRST, I need to find the dates in the first chart that correspond with an (L).
I need this to populate in the second chart under "Date". The issue is, I don't want spaces AND I want to allow for DUPLICATE Dates (as seen in this example for "4/1/18".)

SECOND, I need the fruit I loved from the first chart to populate next to the correct date in the second chart under "Fruit". However, because there were two fruits I ate on the same day and loved them both, I need both 4/1/18 to populate with different fruit.

Does this make sense? Sorry, not good at explaining.

Hello Madman74 and Welcome to Excel Forum.
This reads like school work (must be accomplished by formulas). If so please read:
Nothing is more frustrating than to be working on homework and to get stuck. Without guidance, you might have no hope of finishing the assignment before the deadline. The Internet can be a big help in that respect, but without learning how to get the right answer, asking others to solve your homework questions for you simply becomes a downward spiral (and it's cheating).

We do not want to contribute to you cheating yourself out of your education, but we also acknowledge that seeking assistance to learn a concept is a legitimate request.

If you are genuinely interested in receiving help in the form of tutoring or coaching, then please rephrase the title of your original post to clearly indicate you are seeking coaching or tutoring help. Any forum members (who are willing to assist as a tutor) will modify their responses accordingly to facilitate your learning. Tutors don't tell you the answers, they help you figure it out for yourself; so don't expect answers, expect suggestions, or just plain hints. Also, be specific in describing the function/formula or technique you trying to learn, and tell us what you have attempted so far. Otherwise, expect your plea for homework answers to be ignored.
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.

Lol. I appreciate this response, as I have a daughter in high school, but I am trying to find a formula for a financial database I have created dor my families personal budget.

Since you are using the 2011 version you could accomplish the first task, acquiring the dates, using Index and Aggregate using Row as the K argument. Index and Aggregate should work to place the fruit with the proper date also using Countifs as the K argument.
If you would like for us to model these formulas using your data please upload the workbook from which the screen shot in post #1 is taken.
