formula to calculate totals using whole & half numbers

Can someone help me figure out what formula i need to use to get the attendance totals column to calculate whole and half numbers so that when i put in the amount of days each employee has accumulated in the bottom and those numbers go over to the columns that when i enter a 1 or 0.5 on a certain day with the corresponding code that it will calculate the correct total in the column matching the shift code. The column titled non worked days calculates whole and half numbers correctly but the attendance type columns do not calculate half days(0.5) they only use whole numbers. Please help, thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.

Can you please add some (mock) data to the file, showing the results you're getting? Please include enough data to show the whole and half days counting correctly/incorrectly. Also please either note the results you want - either some text notes or a copy of the sheet with those results manually entered for comparison. I don't think it will be too difficult to do what you want, but it's not clear to me right now exactly what that is!

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

    Try this in AH6:

    =SUMIF($C7:$AG7,AH$5,$C6:$AG6)

You can then drag that formula to the right and down.

Here is a picture of data entered into the boxes and you can see where i entered 0.5 for half a personal day on 2 separate boxes, however when you look over into the columns under "P" it shows the number 2 instead of 1 but the total in the no work days has calculated it correctly. mock wrong calculations.JPG

Re: formula to calculate totals using whole & half numbers

this is how i would like it to calculate and look, however i have to manually change the totals in the attendance type columns to match what i actually used and then it deletes my formula all together so if i make a blank copy it doesnt carry forward the formula. mock right calculations.JPG

Did you try the formula in post #3? It does exactly that.
