    Don't save with same name

    Well like the title says.
I want to make it impossible for the user to save the workbook with exactly the same name.
So I want to force him to make a new name.

Can this be done without VBA or not?

Usually when you try to save any file in same name you will get a warning message?!

    Ehm...yes that is true then_gold....
But does that mean the user will also choose another name?

Just want to make sure the user does not overwrite the original file.

keep the file as read-only, so when they open & do some changes, they will ask to save another name. But here they can't overwrite the original file.

Hmm yes (can't believe I forgot about that) but then nobody can update the original file when it needs to be updated under the same name correct?
Or that can be of course handled with a password I guess.

Yes, when file in read only, no one can updated the original file.
Keep a password for that file, so who know pwd can update the original file.
