Issues converting monthly to weekly goals due to overlapping months

    Hello,

I've searched other posts and have tried solutions that people have suggested, but they aren't working for me. My goal is to take my monthly goal and break it down into weeks. As you know weeks overlap with months and that is where I am having difficulty. The simple days in month/monthly goal and taking that number * 7 doesn't give me my monthly goal.

The report goes Sunday - Saturday

For instance the monthly goal is 847 and 31 days in the month. 847/31 = 27/day. 27*7(days in the week) = 191/week. January essentially has 5 weeks so how do I formulate that extra week?

I'm trying to upload my spreadsheet but the system isn't letting me, but here is a screenshot if that helps at all.

    I appreciate any assistance.

January really has 4 weeks and 3 days, rather than the 5 weeks you claim. Perhaps this is what is causing you the problems.

That isn't the issue, I'm having the same problem with every other month as well. Thank you though for the suggestion.

Hello breese and Welcome to Excel forum.
As to uploading a spreadsheet: The paperclip icon doesn't work so to upload click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
By the way, if you include the version of Excel you are using it will help us in attempting to tailor formulas to your version.
That said, I will attempt to address the question by suggesting that you put the following in B4: =B3/(B2/7)
Then put this in B5: =B4/7
Then, as a check, put this in B6: =B5*B2
Let us know if you have any questions.
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.

Formula in B4 then copied across.

Formula calculates the maximum number of weeks in the month and divides the monthly amount by number of weeks.
