    vlookup with multiple if

    Hi all,

I am trying to incorporate a vlookup with multiple ifs statemnets if possible.

Basically, I am looking up a value and if it returns anything more then .5 then return 30, if between >.4 but less then .5 then return 20 then if more then .25 but less then .4 return 10 and anything less then just return 0. Is this formula possible? I need to formula in column H if possible . Thanks for the help!

    Re: vlookup with multiple if

You need to remove the FALSE arguments, as I've highlighted in the formula bar, as that's where each next IF function should be.

You might also want to consider using INDEX/MATCH rather than VLOOKUP so you don't need to worry about changing the Column_Index_Number for each VLOOKUP if you ever change your data layout.

This is a perfect case for the LOOKUP function:

    =LOOKUP(VLOOKUP(B2,Sheet4!A7:AB7,28,FALSE)/VLOOKUP(B2,Sheet4!A7:S7,15,FALSE),{0,0.25,0.4,0.5},{0,10,20,30})

    Re: vlookup with multiple if

Absolutely. I've started with VLOOKUP to be sure I am going right way, and finally I've left it there.

    Re: vlookup with multiple if

I would probably add a helper column (which you can hide if needed), put the vlookup in there, then do your test in col H
