how many times employee work in the role

Hello all
1st sorry about the format of the excel table but the other cells perform other tasks.
What am after is to search for the employee have and count how many times the have acting in the role?
I know it would be easier if the employee was in the same location every time but the roster designed so everyone drops down to next link and the person at the bottom returns to the top.
Attached is an example and the table I am trying to design is to the right?
Not sure if I should be using sum product, count if, or even match index.
any help would greatly be appreciated.

Based on your sample file, and assuming you corrected the names in your results table to mirror the names in your source matrix {i.e. Employee1 as opposed to Employee 1}, the below will replicate your expected results:
