Need average of items on multiple sheets in different rows...

Hello

I am trying to average items on my spreadsheet that are listed on multiple sheets but in different rows at times on each sheet. The name will likely always be the same but the location changes. I was trying an INDEX & Match function but it isn't returning any values. I also tried VLOOKUP but it was returning weird values. I attached the workbook because it is hard to explain without the visual.

The first sheet is where I was trying to get the averages, the items I am looking for are listed in the NAME columns (D and N), the number I need the average of is in column A or N in the subsequent sheets.

The formulas I was trying are at the bottom of the spreadsheet, I tried writing in the name of the item and I've tried writing the row/column of the item I'm looking for and not having any success

Any help is welcomed and I can give more information about the workbook if needed, sorry it's so confusing!
Also this is a shortened workbook because my original was too big!

You could copy the value to a specific cell in every sheet. It can be hidden by changing its colour to the backgroud colour.

Then a multisheet formula is all you need, =SUM(‘FirstSheet:LastSheet’!A1)
