Hello atadam and Welcome to Excel Forum.
I suggest that you upload a small fictionalized sample of your data along with manually produced expected results that we can attempt to replicate using formulas/code. The data and results should reflect the three categories (0-2, 3-7 and 8+) stated in post #1. Also be sure to show us any 'special cases' if applicable.
To upload a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy) click on the GO ADVANCED button below the Quick Reply window and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
