Directing to a variety of tables.

Been trying to setup a table lookup, but believe I may have too many variables to properly direct a cell.

What I'm faced with is the response to one question needs to direct the lookup to one of four (4) arrays. Nested with in those arrays are three (3) arrays which are dependent on the comparison of the response to two other questions. From there we have a lookup table with the y-axis dependent on selection from a pull down menu, but the x-axis is a non-linear interpolation.

Trying to figure out the simplest way to get to the nested array to then allow for interpolation.

It would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post. Don't try to use the Paperclip icon, as it doesn't work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Directing to a variety of tables.

    Hello,

Here's what I've built for the spreadsheet so far and a snap shot of one of the five (5) tables to be directed to based on response to D8. It's a guide for Prescriptive Design, a code approved method for engineering wood structures of simplistic design.

The lookup would occur in D26-D39 for 1st floor, D51 to D64 for 2nd floor, etc.

The response entered in D8 is the first variable and can be a pulldown as there are five specific responses.

From there, there's a comparison of cell I7 to which floor is being worked on. This is where we are narrowed down to three (3) tables.

Responses to "Wall Line Spacing" would be an interpolation between an upper and lower provided value in increments of 10-feet. However, some cases are "Not Permitted".

Bracing method has five (5) specific options.

    Appreciate any insight.
