    Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

    Hello

I have Excel 2016 and need to show a two year total with 24 months on increases in percent.

    -I have a know total 26000
-I have two years broken down into a month per cell (24 Cells)
-Each month has a total applied (Increase)

    How do I show each month's increase in % towards the 2 years total (Month1 3%, Month2 17%, Month3 26%, Etc)?

    Thanks

    Bruce

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well.

Re: Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

    Thank you, attached

    I know as I add monthly numbers G8..G11, H8..H11, I8..I11, Etc, Jun 2019 Subtracts from total (E12 8400) and calculates percent (E12 - 14 and calculates % 15)

Then next month Feb 2019 subtracts from Jun 2019 and calculates percent (G14 - H14 then calculate H15 percentage from total E12 (2400)

Re: Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

    Sorry corrections

    I know as I add monthly numbers G8..G11, H8..H11, I8..I11, Etc, "Jan" 2019 Subtracts from total (E12 8400) and calculates percent (E12 - 14 and calculates % G15, H15, I15, Etc)

Then next month Feb 2019 subtracts from Jun 2019 and calculates percent (G14 - H14 then calculate H15 percentage from total E12 (2400)

Would you add the actual results you expect and importantly explain how you arrive at them. It's still not clear to me whether you're looking for a cumulative percentage, a monthly percentage or indeed something else.

Re: Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

    Sorry

I am looking for monthly percentages towards a 100% total (Red AB15).

As I add numbers to the months (E8..E11, F8..F11, Etc) the Monthly are Added (E14, F14, etc) the % is increased (E15, F15, Etc) and AB15 increases towards 100%. The AB15 100% percent is the monthly count towards the total units in C12.

    See attached

    Thanks,

    Bruce

Re: Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

May be this. In E16 dragged upto AB16

    =SUM($E$14:E$14)/SUM($E$14:$AB$14)

    E16:AB16 formatted for %.

Re: Calculate Monthly Increases Showing Percents

It's still not clear since the examples you give as the expected results are not consistent with what you SAY you want.

For instance you show in E15 the value 3%, yet 591 is 7% of 8400

The following in column E dragged across MAY be what you want but you need to clarify how you arrive at 3% if not.
