Sumif or sumifs with excel table headers as criteria

Hi,

I am trying to write a horizontal sumifs function to show the total sales up to a certain year that is specified in another column. I've gotten the function to work if the data is not formatted as a table, but when I format the data as a table the sumifs function returns 0. I've tried it with both sumif and sumifs, but the problem seems to be that when the data becomes a table it isn't reading the column headers (which are yearly sales) correctly to sum up the values below.

Attached is a sample workbook to hopefully show what I am trying to do. The column I am trying to calculate is Sum of sales up to department change. I put the same formula that I used in both the table-formatted and non-table-formatted data array.
