Consecutive Hours Worked - Monitor Overtime

    Hello everyone.

I work for a trucking company. Each day we keep track of our drivers' hours (through the day prior). They all work different hours and days. We need to monitor their hours to make sure they do not go over 70 CONSECUTIVE hours worked. Attached is a spreadsheet example (each tab is for one driver - we have 30+ drivers). Right now I'm just entering hours and manually totaling them in column D when I think they may be getting close to 58+ hours. If the driver has reached 58+ hours worked, I notify them and let them know they need to watch their hours for that day (if they're working) so they don't go over 70 hours. If they go over 70 consecutive hours, that's a no no.

On the spreadsheet, I have it set where if a driver reaches 58+ hours, the total shows up yellow, and if they've one over 70 hours it turns red. Feel free to change it all up. (I'm okay with Excel, but no pro so will take any advice.)

My goal is to create a spreadsheet / formula that will either automatically add up hours worked OR subtract hours (from 70 hours max) each day to let me know how many hours the driver can work without going over 70 hours. Is there a way to add up the CONSECUTIVE hours worked? Then when they have days off, it'll restart the hours when they work again?

I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if there are questions.

    THANK YOU GUYS!

    Kim

Re: Consecutive Hours Worked - Monitor Overtime

    Hi, just a quick idea.
I added formula's in column D that add up the week's hours and start over every week change
I noticed in the Employee 2 tab that you added hours form the prior month, the formula in column D row 5 will then need to be edited to check that if there are prior hours then to add those too, but only row 5.
    Play around with this.

BTW, press the File button (left op) and Options to see the Excel version, unsure is not enough
