    Transpose/Index formula help

    Hey guys,

I'm trying to "transpose" a column based on 2 unique values and I'm having trouble figuring out how. I tried using index but after a couple hours i threw in the towel and resorted to seeking help here. I have attached an excel file as an example of what i'm trying to do and where i'm at. (i just made it up as an example).

Basically i want to move/copy the codes in column C and transpose it in rows given the unique "clientid" and "type"

    Thank you for the help!

    Re: Transpose/Index formula help

Hey there. The standard way of doing this is to use an INDEX solution. The following in G4 for example:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Enter that with Ctrl+Shift+Entry to create an array formula. Then copy G4 to H4:R4 to fill in the other values. Then copy G4:R4 to G5:R22 to copy it down.

There's a similar solution using AGGREGATE that would also work.

For completeness, the other formula would be:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
No need to use Ctrl+Shift+Enter on this one.
