Sumproduct in Power Pivot with Dynamic criteria

    Dear All,

I have seen various examples on the sumproduct alternative where the criteria are constant indicated within the Quotes ("") for providing the results.

In my case i would like to calculate cumulative totals for each category ("Accrued expenses" etc). The cumulative is with reference to the Financial period indicated as (1 to 12). For some categories there are no posting in certain periods.

I have also provided the result if it is done in the case of normal excel using Sumproduct.

Looking for the similar solution in PowerPivot and PowerQuery, file attached.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.

What do you want? Are you trying to replicate these results using PQ or PP?

Hi, I would like to replace the result with Power Pivot.

If similar syntax is provided for PowerQuery, it would be great.

Re: Sumproduct in Power Pivot with Dynamic criteria

Here is a way to get the cumulative totals using a Pivot Table:
Category and Financial period (in that order) in the Row field,
CY Balance pulled into the Values field,
The CY Balance column has field values > Show values as > Running Total in > Financial period.
Let us know if you have any questions.
