Question Trying to Create a Stock Portfolio Comparison Tool for My Dad

I'm trying to create a stock portfolio comparison tool for my dad. He has a sort of stock recommendation thing he follows and of course the asset allocation changes with age. I'm looking to be able to type in the name of stock and value in under the POSITIONS and VALUE headers on the POSITIONS sheet and then have a formula for automatically adding the CATEGORY in right beside it. I have tables created on the FI TABLES sheet that include any stocks he would be entering and what category they fall under. So basically if he had a position of ADM it would automatically add "CONSUMER STAPLES" into the CATEGORY column.

Beyond that I'm trying to get a pie chart to always be present that shows what percentage of his money is in each category and then have some sort of drop down to where he could select his age range or whichever asset allocation he wanted to compare his portfolio to and see a pie chart for that as well. I've already built those asset allocations on the FI ASSET ALLOCATIONS sheet.

Just something he asked me if I could do and I'm realizing it's harder for me to help him than I thought. I'm definitely no Excel wizard.

I've attached what I have so far for reference.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Here is the first part. Will look at the second as time permits.

I suggest you reformat your third sheet so that there is one column with categories, then one more column with allocations for each age range, instead a complete table for each age range.

I set up a pivot table to give you your pie chart. I set up a named range for the second pie chart. I am not a big fan of pie charts, especially for this sort of comparison, especially with this many categories, since they are hard to assess visually. I am also showing you column charts.
