Filter function

Mike Girvin (spelling?) did a YouTube video about the relatively new filter function, supposedly available in Office 365. Not in mine though. What's up with that?

Re: Filter function

Who is Mike Girvin and what new filter function was he talking about?

Are you sure you have Office 365 and not Excel 2016?

If you do have 365, then you’d need to be on the insider programme - are you?

Did a quick youtube search - your spelling was correct but he has over 3000 videos ( I looked at 1 or 2 and on some, the quality was really bad). How would we know which vid you are referring to?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: Filter function

Mike Girvin has probably over 1000 videos on YouTube in his "Excel is Fun" channel. And yes, I"m sure I have 365.

Re: Filter function

It will depend on your update channel.

I'm on Monthly Channel (Targeted) and have Filter function available (Version 1908).

I believe current update for regular Monthly Channel is on Version 1907 and doesn't yet have Filter function (Semi-Annual channel is more behind).

See note from MS.
There is also Monthly Channel (Targeted). This update channel provides an early look at the upcoming Monthly Channel release. It is a supported update channel, and usually is available at least one week ahead of time when it's a Monthly Channel release that contains new features.

Re: Filter function

Oh if you want to change update channel (and if it's not locked down by your company's IT policy).

See links below: This is how I changed from Semi-Annual to Monthly (Targeted) for testing purposes.

Re: Filter function

According to MS the new Dynamic arrays are available to all 365 users https://support.office.com/en-gb/art...rs=en-GB&ad=GB

But I think they were only rolled out to the Monthly (Targeted) channel as CK76 said.
I certainly don't have them yet.

Re: Filter function

I am on the monthly channel. No big thing. I'll just have to wait.
