    Index Match Match Help

Hey everyone - hoping to get some help with an index match match question

I'm trying to get a text from a column based on a few criteria. In tab "Get" in column E, I want to look up column A (Name), B (Date), and D (Unit) to match with tab "Data" columns A (Name), B (Unit), and C (Date) to give what is in column D (Discount Plan).

Can someone help me out with this? I've provided the excel file to work with.

    Thank you so much!

Which one would be most efficient? My excel file is several MBs and this section takes several seconds to load every time I make changes.

    Re: Index Match Match Help

    Hi d7882,

VBA normally takes longer than internal Excel Functions. There are some Excel functions that take a bit longer called Volatile functions: http://www.decisionmodels.com/calcsecretsi.htm
Then there are Array functions or Control-Shift-Enter functions which I think take long than Volatile. https://www.ablebits.com/office-addi...mula-examples/

If my Index-Match formula above takes less than 3 seconds, I'd stick with it. If it takes more than 10 seconds keep asking and give us a bigger example and explanation of what you want.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Index Match Match Help

Thanks guys - I'll stick with Marvin's for now until the file gets too big and too long to work with.

    Thanks!
