    Aligning Multiple Columns

    Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I am having aligning multiple columns in my worksheet. I am trying to align ID numbers in columns A and B, along with having columns C, D, and E follow suit by staying aligned with the ID number that they currently are aligned with. So in my example below (and attached), I would like the data in cells B5:E5 to line up with cell A7 and so on. I hope I am being clear enough. I have no problem matching the ID numbers, but getting the data in columns C, D, and E to stay with the corresponding ID number in column B has been the issue.
Since I have over 4,000 that I need to match, this will be a HUGE time saver!
Thank you in advance for your time.

Why not 1 highlight Col B to E and sort by B
Then 2 Highlight A and sort

    Re: Aligning Multiple Columns

    Hello forestview,
There are ID numbers contained in column A that are not in column B, and vice versa, so they don't align when sorted separately.

    Hi Buckington_9

That's not clear according to your post so you should post a sample spreadsheet so someone can address your issue.

    Regards

    Re: Aligning Multiple Columns

    Hi Buckington_9

    Insert a new
column between A and B and place this in the new B2 =IFERROR(INDEX($A:$A,MATCH($D2,$A:$A,0)),"No Match") and drag down, it will look at column A and if it matches column C it will show the number from column A otherwise No Match

    Regards

    Re: Aligning Multiple Columns

I tried the formula and it shows results in column B as all No Match. Even if it did show the number from column A if there was a match, how would I then align columns C, D, E, and F with the ID numbers from column A?
    Thanks forestview!
