Circle Reference

I can't seem to find the solution for this circle reference issue.

I want to calculate total overhead based upon percentages of the contract value. For instance:

Bank Fee is 6% of the contract value which is 100,000.

Then after I want to calculate the insurance rate which is 35% of 100,000 and add up both insurance & bank fee... however it's giving me a error message saying there is a circular reference issue.

I enabled iterative calculations but it still doesn't work because it's calculating the insurance rate not of 100,000 but 100,000 in addition to the bank fee.

Pleae help.

Hi,
If
Contract Value is in A1
Bank Fee in A2
Insuracence rate in A3
then presumably your total is given by the formula =A1*(A2+A3)
There is no circular reference there and I suspect you have some other cells that are circular.


If you disable the iterative calculaion the status bar will tell you where exists the first circular reference
