lookup formulas where 2 values must be found before the lookup pastes data

Hi all,

been given a spreadsheet to drastically modify. Currently based on a standard VLOOKUP formula where the value in Cell A2 alone determines the cell contents that follow from cell D2 onwards.

However, new requirement is to check that both the value in A2 and C2 are in the lookup data and only then paste the relevant information into celss D2 onwards.

current vlookup used for the content of Cell D2 is : =VLOOKUP(A2,'spec properties'!$A$2:$AD$2001,5)

now needs to effectively be A2 and C2 used for the lookup but I have never seen anything like this and am not sure whether it would be a different formula type required to return the correct data.
