MTD to consecutively populate and keep final figures

Hello and thank you for reading. I have a sheet that has 6 months of tabs with tables displaying MTD. I am using VLOOKUP on the snapshot tab for quick reference. I am having trouble formulating the following:

Months that have past (based on a month drop down selection) should display the end of month figures on the snapshot tab
Months that are in progress (based on both the date entry and month drop down) should only display MTD figures for that month
Months that are yet to come (based on a month drop down selection) should display a "0" or blank.

I have attached the working document with my attempts at formulating these conditions but have absolutely hit a wall. Thanks for any help, Happy New Year!

Hi, I believe what you are asking is to bring over the totals from the start of the year up until the date you enter. If that is correct then I think the attached should do the job.

I've changed the contents and formatting of the cells for the dropdown, the dropdown cell itself, and the months in column A. Cell formatting is "mmmm".
The formula checks if the month is before the one selected and, if so, selects row 17, if not, it checks if it is greater then the month selected and displays 0, if it is the same month then it does a vlookup for the day entered.

That is it, perfect! Thank you very much for your help. I completely overlooked the formatting, so I was trying to create a long string of IF(OR()) looking for specific text.
