Formula to split text on word boundaries
Hello,
I need to split columns of text at maximum 255 characters, but would like to be able to split the text at the last complete word before the 255 character limit. Is there any way I can do this?
The formula I am using to split the column of text is =MID(A2,255,600). (I don't need the 600 character limit at the end of the formula, but it didn't work without adding a character limit!)
Sorry, I'm not an Excel expert, so hope this makes sense!

I would struggle to do what you need using a formula.
So I would opt for a Macro.
I have created a Spreadsheet for you.
Paste your text in column A.
Click on the Red Tab and Stand Back.
