Formula to extract certain rows (based on a single criteria) for a dashboard

    Afternoon all,

I have a data set and would like to extract certain rows on to a separate tab based on a single criteria. Logic as follows:

Open Projects tab - Where the green column D (Include on Dashboard?) contains 'Y' these are the transactions that I would like to show on the dashboard tab (red columns only).
Dashboard tab - This tab contains the headers that I would like extracting from the 'Open Projects' tab. I've colour coded them red to make them easier to identify. NB - If it makes a difference I've rearranged the order of the red columns when you compare the two tabs.

Attached is an example of the data that I'm working with and the output that I expect.

I hope this makes sense but if you have any queries just give me a shout.

    Thanks in advance,

    Snook

    Easy, with Power Query.

Format you source data as a table, then use:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Close and Load To table on your Dashboard worksheet.
let Source = #table({"Question","Thread", "User"},{{"Answered","Mark Solved", "Add Reputation"}}) in Source

If I give you Power Query (Get & Transform Data) code, and you don't know what to do with it, then CLICK HERE

Thanks for the solution Olly but unfortunately we don't have PQ on our work laptops.
I think I've managed to write an array formula that achieves the same though (attached)?

Cheers for your help, as always it's much appreciated.

You can download PQ as a free add-in for Excel 2013 directly from Microsoft - ask your IT guys to get it for you.
