    IF returns unexpected value

    Dear members,

    i will need your lights again!

    i have this formula

    IF(True; 6; MIN($G$37;I26)

    this is coming from the formula evaluation process. The checking statement is true, the formula in the [value if true] is calculated with a result of 6 and then I have the formula [if false]..

    it is safe to assume that the return should be 6 but instead i get 30 which comes from the MIN() function.

    i cannot understand why IF does not return what it supposed to.

    any ideas?

    Perhaps upload a sample copy of your worksheet with any sensitive data removed? If some data is necessary, include fake data that mimics your real data.

    My guess: the calculation mode is Manual, not Automatic, and a previous set of data effectively produced IF(FALSE; 6; MIN(...)).

    It's because of all your circular references. Locate and correct them (Formulas tab/Error Checking/Circular References.

    The workbook you posted has five circular references.

    Yes, there's a circular reference error flagged as soon as you open the workbook.

    thank you for the replies! i am grateful once again!

    i am not so experienced, i will try to simplify the data and put them in a logical order.

    in the mean time, my excel does not flag anything as i open it or when i check for errors.
