Can anyone offer advice on how to change a list of names with subject grades in multiple columns to a list of just 3 columns. Ending with duplicate names in one column with subjects and grades along side, see example below.

As a teacher myself, I use PowerQuery for this sort of thing all the time (see attached).
You load the existing table into PowerQuery (Data ribbon - From Table/Range ...), then go to the Transform ribbon in the PQ window and select Unpivot Other Columns. Close and load to wherever you want it to be.
Refresh on the Data ribbon in Excel will update the table if you make changes to the master table - the query can be set to refresh automatically.
