What do you mean by "pasting a duplicate file"?
There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

I meant information. for instance copying information from a file to excel twice or more, I which to get a prompt message that would alert me when that information is duplicated. I know it requires some sort of formulas
The only way I can think of (other than VBA) would be to use a helper cell and run a count of items, then check for all counts over 1
1. Use code tags for VBA. [code] Your Code [/code] (or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Hi, If you just worried about duplicated information, you can use conditional formatting->Highlight Cells Rules->Duplicate Values. It will change the color if it is duplicated.
