adding letter and number in an excel cell

is there a formula that will can do the following?

Cell A1 = "E"
Cell A2 = "1"

i want a formula in Cell A3 that will allow me to join both A1 and A2, so that it says =E1

so Cell A3 will have whatever is in E1

Use the indirect() function:

=indirect(a1&a2)
