Hello to you all! I've been trying to time save inputting hyperlink formula for a large datasheet that I need to insert hyperlinks to external documents. The source folder to the documents is the same and then each record links to a pdf file within that location. The sheet comes with the associated file name but not the location. The basic formula I would use to link would be something like =HYPERLINK("C:\Desktop\GIS\1970_2B_113.pdf", "1970_2B_113"). This then creates the hyperlink to the file and opens. But doing this a few thousand times for individually titled documents is going to take quite a while and test my patients beyond all limits!!!!
What i am looking to do is to create a formula that makes a hyperlink to a source folder (i.e. C:\Desktop\GIS) and then opens the file that is titled in another cell (i.e. in Cell B2 the text title 1970_2B_113.pdf is stated) which then essentially creates the hyperlink as above.
I have tried various ways and can't seem to find the right query to see if this is something that can even be done!
Any help would be appreciated, even to say can't be done!!!!
Stay Safe.
