Conditional formating issue on dates

I have some issues with conditional formatting on dates. I would like to mark rows/cells in any color if cell contains for example the text Wed.

Column/cell raw-values are: 2020-05-27
Visible values are: 2020-05-27 Wed (I have changed the cell formating to also show weekdays)

Anyone who knows how the conditional formatting should be done on this kind of situation? Perhaps different method should be used.

Assuming date is in A1 and it is real date.

=WEEKDAY(A1)=4
